Back dodge has now been given its rightful advantage to a fight. Real fighting is all about distance. So managing it is key. Try feinting first then hit them with the long range attack right after they have side/back stepped.

Gold linking has changed quite a bit now. An avoided attack now makes you unable to link. The above combined with the added changes to advantage, make uneducated spamming of goldlink combos actually detrimental to your win chances.

Yes, but the main reason why punchers need those charged attacks is because most of the punch attacks are just mid thrusts. They are easily dodged and almost always require the initial contact to even make a solid combo.
