Absolver 1.06 is Live

edited September 2017 in Official News

Hi everyone,

We've just pushed the 1.06 update on all platforms and it will be rolling out today! Sorry for the delay on this, a couple of bugs took a little longer than expected. Full patch notes are below, the main bugfixes are the powers/items loss issue, crashes during bosses cutscenes, and disconnects during Combat Trials which should happen far less frequently now.

If you have new issues after this update, or that previous issues are still happening, please let us know at support_PC@sloclap.com, indicating which region you're playing from!

We know that it can be frustrating to get duplicates as rewards in Combat Trials, and we wanted to thank everyone for their support until now, so we've added new masks in the Guidance HUB; rest assured we're also working hard at reworking the loot system and the end-game rewards, but in the meantime, we wanted to make new masks available to everyone. These masks are inspired by Devolver games, and we think they're pretty cool, so we hope you like them too ! These masks won't be there forever, so grab them while you can :)

Thanks again,
Sloclap Team

  • THANK YOU DEVS! I really like the masks and haven't had time to check out much else yet because I'm at work. But I read that you were adding i-frames to the dodge which is something I requested on reddit. SO thanks for reading things and for the updates.
  • Thanks for the update! Everything seems a lot more fine-tuned. Thanks for fixing the crash on the Risyn 3rd fight, as well! I was able to beat the boss without a problem.
  • Great game! Very excited to play the new patch! :)
  • These mask are sweet and took me a minute to find them lol.

Thanks all your hard work. Now I am going to go play some more...... ╭( ・ㅂ・)و
  • All good fixes. how do we get players back and new players in now.
  • See ya later Kahlts ^^" Hopefully they toss the armour and bring back the stamina (or some other effect) right now there is 100% zero reason to take Kahlt over Forsaken or Windfall. Windfall buffed through the roof, and Parry still easy mode as ever lol. Why put myself at risk if I can't stop their attack, get a solid chance to hit, or at least something other than armour that shouldn't be used in the first place (ie, reward skill not mistakes) and a lukewarm pittance of stamina and mitigation that takes time out of the fight that you have to manage with return on the investment.
  • Just tried out the new patch on PS4. I can't enjoy the mechanical improvements due to really weird lag issues. During several fights, both out in the world and in the Combat Trials, I experienced a loss of feedback from the game, meaning I was both getting hit by and throwing ghost moves that neither the on screen visuals or the controller was registering (no rumble). The result was that trades with my opponent became indecipherable and I could neither tell what they were doing, or what I was doing, due to the glitch. I've experienced lag in the game before, but it was more rubberband-y, not like this.

Game may be unplayable for me. I feel like 1.05 didn't really improve the bugs and network issues for me either. I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?
  • lag lag lag ping ping((((((
  • R.i.p Forsaken, parry is under powered still. If you say it's not that is your opinion, and while I respect it, I am not too inclined to hear it.

Parry, basically is too slow to pull off and offers a very very slight window to counter punch (unless you have freaky fast reflexes), and people can easily dodge a power hit, now with less stamina it is even worse to use.

In all out honesty it could use either a boost to the counter window, or a very very slight negative attack drain or stamina drain, because if I parry someone in real life, they are not going to hit me with full strength on the next punch, a parry kills someones momentum and with the window to strike back being so short this would help, that way if a fast move hits directly after a parry it's not making the parry feel useless.
  • haven't played the game for a week now, dont really miss it anymore, the only thing i miss is the money that got stolen from me..

maybe it's just me but I can't find the masks anywhere in the guidance bridge area. I've checked the meditation room, the three paths to other areas, and even the short blocked off path back to the tutorial area... where should I be looking?

I've seen a video of where the masks are supposed to be; if they're not there does that mean they're not available anymore?
  • Right now PvP and PvE is unplayable online for me. My friend are experiencing the same issue. Really bad lag. Random oc

Same here, i'm back in 1.04
  • Ugh. I hate that every time I come back to check on this, the networks still suck, and I hate that it seems so many people are experiencing the same thing. In a game like this, if you aren't going to nail online connectivity, then what is the point? There is NO single player experience in this game whatsoever. What is there barely qualifies. So I payed about $30 for a game that simply isn't there, and that I can't enjoy.

In Absolver there is a small world, a good looking world, but a world so small that you feel like you are always bumping your elbows on it. After three hours, you've seen that world, and everything after that is just running the same loop over and over again. Part of that loop is running around everywhere because there is no fast travel, and because you've seen the world after just a few hours, running around in it again and again is equivalent to mandatory boredom. That's mandatory boredom built into the standard gameplay loop. This wouldn't be such a big deal if the online were working. The experience of bumping into players, cooperating with them, schooling, and starting fights would break up that boredom enough to make it unnoticeable, but since most people can only enjoy the combat as intended in offline mode, that boredom is showcased front and center.

This isn't the worst launch experience I've ever had with a game. It's not even the worst I've had this year (ME: Andromeda, I'm looking at you). But, this is the most frustrated I've felt by a game launch in ages. In the abstract, I love what this game is and what it is trying to do. I mean, I'm here aren't I, posting on these boards. But I've had this game since launch and I've yet to have the intended experience with it. I haven't even gotten into schools yet because of how connectivity has been affecting my experience in Combat Trials.

haven't played the game for a week now, dont really miss it anymore, the only thing i miss is the money that got stolen from me..

That sucks. What also sucks is that I am dangerously close to feeling the same way. I feel like when I uninstall this game, it will stay uninstalled for good at this point. It's a multi-player game that, in its current state, I can't recommend to friends. That's stupid. What is the point of a game like that?
  • Game is now poke dodge poke dodge. Kahlt was nerfed and parry is still way too good.
  • same with the lag here too and the game loss of feedback. constantly when im in the middle of a fight with a spammer for example it suprises me he stops attacking all of a sudden only to discover later i did take damage from more attacks. multiplayer kinda went the opposite direction like this because now i honestly really cant play.

dont want my money back tho i still like the game
but i hope you devs can fix it
  • My biggest issue is that there's no reason to take Kahlt over Windfall or Forsaken now. Their ability is strictly worse, not quite useless (+20 Stamina even if you don't stop the attack, take the damage anyway, and don't want the armour is still a bit of stamina)

That and the weird animation frame skips going on.
  • I played more today on the PS4 version and it's still nightmarish. PvE is downright unplayable online. 1v1 is either unpayable, or sometimes, it work, but barely, with very very noticable lag which make the result of the fight more based on luck than anything else.
