Vets ruin the game for new comers sometimes deters people from playing when you get stomped like crabgrass need something other the the pvp to get the new players to stay or nerf pvp to the point where vets would be on par stamina and health wise with the new players but yeah 45 is shot
Nerfing pvp, no I think the game needs some more Twitch streamers. Good music + Absolver is an interesting stream. There were a lot of these toward the beginning, now streams are pretty sparse. Some more PVE will help, too, people are jumping into pvp too soon because either they get through the content too quick, or are skipping it altogether for whatever reason.
the game needs enough players to have a good working matchmaking. at the moment you cant only get matched with players of your rank cause there just a few players online in general. thats a vicious circle
but once absolver has more players and the people get fair matches, the game will get even more popular i think
i think the dev's already try alot to get over this gap and i hope this will work soon

I have actually been spending more time in PvE, than PvP lately, trying to help out new Absolvers, and give them something engaging other than the mismatched matchmaking.
Well, for what its worth, I quit playing because of Stagger. I initially loved the game; I bought 3 copies to get my brothers to play online with me. But eventually the meta Stagger BS became too much to tolerate; it was repetitive and ridiculous. I resolved to quit on any opponent that had the same ol' nonsense Stagger moves (Grab, Rollback, WWDP, etc.), but that resulted in me quitting EVERY match; so I stopped playing. I just logged back on to see if anybody still played this game; 45 sounds about right. I wish it would have been a bigger hit, and I absolutely LOVE the game-play, art and style; but Stagger... it just ruined the credibility of the game for me.

thats really unfortunate but imo stagger isnt that over powered anymore since the last patch so youll meet more people with other deck now but i can only speak for the pc experience i dont know how it is on ps4
id suggest you try the game again... at least a little it keeps getting better and better
The game is finally getting there, IMO. Since this patch, fights feel a lot more realistic. You can't just run in and spam a bunch of fast stuff, because risking taking hits isn't a thing, anymore. The increased damage on realistic moves not only makes them more viable, but I'm finally seeing curled up uppercut knockouts happening 10x more than the WWDP "death by light slap," and that's very satisfying to see. I've seen tons of different decks, with little to no exact repetition.
There's also a style of play that many people hate (because it's based on fast interrupt), but what this causes for people that know how to use it (and aren't just using jab-hook or jab-jab without a follow up or plan) is true in-fighting, where there's a short range exchange and sticking to the opponent to prevent any heavy attacks. Because of the increased damage on short moves, this is a viable way to fight. A boxer can get in and in-fight, now, keeping an opponent locked down with a jab and uppercut, and win with basic punches and timing. If you want to hit harder, moves that hit harder take longer to wind up, so you have set up the longer range hit by creating the appropriate combat distance, or using class ability to slip a heavier attack in after a whiffed attack.
All of this is fantastic. The game feels like real sparring, fights are fun to watch, and from what it seems, deck advantage for choosing stagger is not a thing anymore. This is an "epic slow-clap" patch. Many thanks for listening!
Pc community sounds rough it's smooth on ps4 plenty of players & competition I'm sure there could be more but I got no complaints the only thing that takes forever is 3v3
Most players I've heard of quit due to the game feeling janky. Some jank is caused by the actual netcode, and some is caused by poorly implemented or lazily coded mechanics. Also, since the game doesn't have an actual ping filter, you can easily connect to someone outside of your region using a VPN, which might be part of where the oddly laggy matches come from. That an shitty internet coupled with the already thin playerbase.
They could also improve the A.I. so it doesn't get cheesed easily. Giving some amount of engagement in it once you beat everything and get all the attacks.
Well, I took your advice and gave it another try... pretty impressed actually. I'm surprised how many changes there are; more impressively, I'm surprised how many of the player suggestions made it into the game. Sloclap genuinely incorporates a LOT of feedback into their game, much more than any other developer I'm aware of. And the mechanics seem to work a lot more smoothly; the game just looks and sounds a lot better overall. That being said, most of my 15-20 matches were against opponents primarily using the Stagger meta (Grab-Punch, WWDP, etc.) but the balancing has definitely mitigated the problem a bit. In fact, the most brutal ass-kickings I received were from players using few, if any, crap moves; they were just straight-up better than me (A LOT better in some cases). So yes, it has definitely been improved; I can never truly forgive the Donkey-Slap (nor should I) but it really is a uniquely entertaining game. I will probably play it more in the future.

I was literally in the same boat as you, constantly getting my ass handed to me by stagger because someone feels like cheesing their way to victory, but I started playing the game again after i heard rumors of a fifth style coming out soon, although the rumors weren't true (yet), I was excited to see how much the community had been heard compared to some other game developers, and now I genuinely enjoy the game as if I was playing it on day one (albeit the feels way more balanced now than I remember).
We need more advertisement. I think some people struggle with the appearance and others just don't just don't know it exists. I stream sometimes and um starting to make some vids on YouTube. I hope to bring more light. Also personally I whenever a new singleplayer map is added it will bring new life. But that's gon a take time but a whole new set of marked ones and all.
Absolver is by far the best martial arts game I've ever played, other fighting games get boring and old at some point being forced to use preselected moves per character but with absolver it's like I'm never completely tired of it. The way you can customize moves and create your rhythm within different styles is amazing, never gets old. I play on Xbox but is moving to ps4 to fight. On pc, you guys are a bit behind in skill compared to the other platforms in my experience. On pc, I joined a random school with random moves and beat everyone I fault that day which won't happen on Xbox especially with no muscle memory or reflex with the new moves rhythm lol. I look forward to challenging the ps4 players as I've heard that's where most of the competition is. I'm GodKingTruth on Xbox by the way if anyone want to play or spar one day.
