Marked Ones - Language

Hi

I was curious as to what language the marked ones spoke in-game or is it something the devs made up?

  • Everyone in Adal speaks Adalian. It is the only language that remained after the downfall of the Adal Empire.

    Is it based off a real language?
  • If i may be so blod to assume.

    its based of french i think. on the last cutsence with kuretz for example at one part he says "... like moths drawn to flames"

    he says something like "papil des lumen"

    papil = papillion = butterfly
    lumen = lumiere = light

    Hmm.....

    Any chance a dev who knows can answer? The previous dev response didn't exactly address the OP.

    They did adress the OP. Adalian is not a real language so they obviously made it up.

    They're french so the language is likely to be based of french, as i've explained.. Papil = papillion and the word is used in the game for "moth" and papillion is french for butterfly.

    Moth in french is 'papillion de nuit' which translates literally to 'night butterfly'.

    I'm speculating but would be willing to bet on it.

    They did not.

    They merely mention everyone in Adal speaks Adallian, no mention if its made up, based off something real or not. Sure, your surmisings are fine but I was after a definitive answer from a dev, who would actually know where the language was developed and what it was inspireed by.

  • Am I the only one that wanna learn how to speak Adalian fluently? It would be so cool but so useless XD
  • But it would be so cool if some absolver would communicate with that language
  • everyone on the forums should speak Adalian. that way only true absolvers could partake on the forums xD. though that would leave out a great chunk of the community..
  • and the community isnt big so there isnt a great chunk to leave out in the first place xD
