Stagger special dodge + feint = chaos?

In one of my recent PVP matches i've encountered Stagger style user. After exchanging few hits he started to use the stagger special sidestep, one that made him roll around and slap me. But he fainted just as he was about to "slap", and then he rolled again, immediatley, fainted before the attack again, and rolled third time.

Took him less than a second to make almost full curcle around me. I was shocked, it was spectacular, but i wonder if it's intetnional?

It didnt make him win, he's not invulnerable while doing this, he was still susceptible to my sweeping hits, but he was able to spam it and literally run circles around me. It also worked with dodge back, making him spaz like an epileptic. But he was the fastest moving living creature in this game. He did put me off guard for a round, but i still won.

If i failed to explain what i mean, i'll ask my friend and we'll try to recreate this (if it's possible) and i'll record it.

If you know what i mean, what do you think? Is it legit? Was he cheating/abusing the system?

I think that, (if it's intentional) this animation skipping is too fast for a dodge, and should not be allowed in this form.

  • I believe it's legit. Some people call it "step cancelling" but to me it looks like the Dempsey Roll from Hajime no Ippo ^_^v
  • It allows to chain moves and misdirect enemy of course overusing can lead to own demise
