How to Report Cheating?

edited September 2017 in General Support
Hey!

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place here. But I'm very sure that I just encountered a hacker/cheater. What can I do to report this person? Or rather, what is the best way for me to do that?

What I encountered was a guy who could lock me down by spamming the same punch at abnormal speeds (maybe 5-6 per second, maybe more). I couldn't do anything except holding down the block button until I ran out of stamina, but that is pretty much all I could do. When I lost, I was not allowed to leave the match either. Nothing happened when I clicked any buttons and the timer for "rematch" ticked down at about 3x the normal speed. I was not able to decline or exit in any way. I tried this 3 times before I had to close down the game by terminating the process.

I took a few screenshots of what happened, but I'm not sure how well they show it.

Thanks

  • I see no reason for people to cheat at such an easy game. I guess they didn't have enough love as a child so they have to fake winning in order to get ahead in life. The developers need to put in a report player function because the game hasn't even been out for a week and cheating is already rampant. The concequence could be a permanent ban on all PVP.
  • I have found this player's Steam Profile. I made a report through Steam, but I would still like to know if there is more that I can do about this. I would post a link to his page so that more people can report him, but I don't know if that's allowed or if it would be classified as "Witch Hunting".

Also, I see that another player has commented on his profile page about the cheating, which means that it's not just me, and this cheater is a problem that needs to be handled.
  • Another person has now commented on his profile page. There are now at least three people who I know can confirm the cheating.
  • Hey Wulftor! We're aware of players like this ruining the experience for others and are addressing this as quickly as possible.

You can send us their Steam ID/name to support_pc@sloclap.com and we'll take it from there. If you have a video clip you can include, that will help greatly as well.

I'm on ps4, and just had some invisible and un-targetable dude run up on me and beat me to death. Haha! but for real. not cool man.How do I report him/her and attach a video clip to it?
I don't want to share the clip to Facebook, Twitter, or Daily Motion 'cause I don't want people to get the wrong impression of Absolver, or the community in it..but I don't know how else to get the clip to you, maybe add a in game report player function? I dunno, ya shouldn't have to do that, but still,
Love the game, like most of the community I've run into...not diggin' people like this.
  • Hi JackieH,

We are sorry to hear that you had such unpleasant game experience. The best way to report such cases is to write all details by email, in your case: support_ps4@sloclap.com. We'll be waiting for more information from you in the e-mail. We do not have plans for in-game reporting feature currently, but we did implement an anti-cheat system that helped to solve many of such issues.

Thank you for your warm words about the game, your patience and continued support!

Hey Devs! I actually just had the same thing happen to me. I wish I could send you my ps4 footage but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. I'll include the username of my griefer in the email if that helps.

  • Hello! Wow, nothing is fixed yet, i got beat up by level 3 player and I'm only level 60, like WTF! It was at, 1V1 Battle or Combat, it happens today.
  • I also notice about level 3 beat me up, it's level 63 i believe because it's different, once you level up, it won't be 61, instead it will be 1 in the orange triangle as level 61 for example. I just started this beginning of the month, take care :)

I ran into an invisible player who was not targetable and could not be attacked. The only thing you could see was a weapon. He killed me and proceeded to Rez me to farm kills. I quit game at that point. Next time I’ll get a video.
  • There's no email for slow clap.. Just tried to report a speed hacker
  • Hey seryph420,

There are two emails provided in this thread: support_pc@sloclap.com (for PC) or support_ps4@sloclap.com (for PS4). Both are working. Feel free to report suspicious activity adding description, video, date and time with your timezone, names/IDs.

    Thanks for your time!
