1v1

I think that having the choice to stick within your boundaries, I.E. getting placed in fights with players within 5 levels of your own level, should be an option.

More often than not, when I'm jumping into the 1v1 pool, I'm getting thrown against very high prestige players whose stats far surpass my own, and I am getting wiped. I consider myself a well rounded player, but when I get owned in such a fashion by these players, I get a feeling of doubt towards my ability. That being said, when I fight players around my level, the matches are very evenly fought and very enjoyable.

If you have a choice to stay within your limits or going against any available player level, with the latter giving more experience for wins, I feel that more players, especially newer ones, would participate in 1v1 more often.

  • Hey Droz,

Keep in mind, Absolver does not currently have Ranked matchmaking, though it is planned for the future, which may be what you are used to. This is a general matchmaking system that does already take into account Skill Rating, Character Level, and Ping. We do have matchmaking adjustments coming for this system in a Patch very soon. We look forward to hearing the feedback from the community once that goes live.

As for the Prestige players you are running into, the Prestige system is a way to track how much time you've invested in the game. It is only available once you've reached the level cap and awards no extra stat points over anyone else at level cap. You can fight the same NPC repeatedly to earn XP once at level cap and gain Prestige levels. This does not mean you are getting better at the game while doing so though.

If you are not currently at level cap and are running into players that are, it may be that no one else is currently available in the matchmaking queue to match you against.
