Matchmaking Level Disparity
Things were fine last night around midnight. I'd enter a 1v1 combat trial and I'd be matched to a player within 3 levels of my own. I had some pretty close matches and lost more than I won, but I had fun.
Today, however, is a completely different story. I'm level 26 and I've had three consecutive matches that were no-contest defeats because the players I was matched against were level 39, level 40, and level 42 respectively. I get that this is a game of "skill" and that theoretically, a level 1 could defeat a level 100 with enough patience and talent. But that doesn't make up for the stat difference in spent skillpoints.
I've completed the single player part of the game and become an Absolver. All that is left is the multiplayer aspect, and it should definitely NOT be pairing a level 26 player against a level 42 player. It's not balanced and it is not fun.

We’re so sorry to hear that you’ve had some trouble with the game’s matchmaking system. Our devs are constantly at work on improving various gameplay mechanics, including matchmaking, and feedback from our players is especially useful in diagnosing any potential issues that are being experienced.
Could you please answer the following questions so that we can pass this information along to our developers for investigation?
- How long did you have to wait in queue before being put into a match? (Was it instantly or did it take a few minutes?)
- In which region are you located / playing from?

The matchmaker took a couple minutes before placing me in the match. It wasn't instant, so I know the game was searching for a proper match. I don't know if the playerbase is just too small right now or if it was a bug which landed me in these unfair matchups.
The first two matches with the level 39 and level 40 players were launched from the Guidance Bridge altar.
The level 42 player match was launched from the Oratian Quarter altar.
I am located in North America.

It sounds like there just wasn't anyone within a few levels of you to match you with or your Skill Rating & Ping was a better match with who you were placed with than someone nearer your level. Our matchmaking system takes into account Ping, Skill Rating, and Character Level overall when matching players and will find the best combination based on who is currently in the queue. This means you're not going to always match against someone near your level because your Skill or Ping may be of more value to the match than Level.
Issues I have had are related more to game issues with weight bug and unbeatable decks (spam)
I can beat most spam decks but once the weight bug hits I can't even beat decks I normally destroy. I have posted a bug about this.
