Questions about dyes and masks.

Basically im wondering if we will be able to dye masks?

Cause its clearly possible to have alternate colors on a mask, Best example is the orate keeper mask and forest dweller mask.
But the thing is i see the new update brought little triangles under gear peices to show its current pigment, masks dont have said triangle for some reason.

should we interpret this as - dont scrap your masks with alt colors cause you wont be able to dye the one you keept?

thanks.

  • Yeah I'm a bit annoyed that they showed the Shaman mask being dyed, yet we can't do it.
  • The dye system is brand new so we may make changes to it over time. However, we don't currently have any plans to dye masks.

Why aren't the masks dye-able to begin with? There's already alternate colors and literally every other category is dye-able. Kinda messes with the whole QoL aspect when you have one part of your outfit you have to rely purely on RNG to get in the right color.

Please make Masks dye-able. It's silly for them not to be.

Edit: If there was some kind of major visual bug with dying masks, I can understand that. However, if something similar to that is the case, please be transparent about it. Not being able to dye masks is a huge slap in the face for all us dorito prestige Fabsolvers. Especially when there isn't any reason given for why it isn't already in the game.

Thats fair. Though lets be honest if you never had plans to dye masks it was a real bad move to make your 1.11 trailer imply otherwise. the part where it mentions dyes you see an absolver with the roses mask being entirely died to white including his mask.

its misleading and borderline false advertising.

still love you guys and the game but am just saying.

  • Shaman has the material files TO BE COLORED in the game.

Forest Dreamer is the other hood,
Dweller is the new one and you can see it has the same 6 color palette available.
Seems a bit of a waste when no one can use except devs.

I would really like to know the reason for even bothering making different colors for something players can't even attain and there is no plan for Masks to be dyed.

The Shaman Hood's default texture doesn't match anything in the game that the player wears to even look right.

There's really no logical reason why masks aren't dye able. So it's not just false advertising, It's a poor design decision.
  • It makes finding the mask in the colour you want more of an achievement even if it is quite luck based, I see masks as much more special items than the rest of your clothes set.

Although some kind of trading system would be cool so that players who have grinded to hell and back and still not got the one they want can buy it, or maybe just have a specialist high priced mask dying NPC or something.

    I disagree.
