Windfall: on dodging "spinning" moves

Hi everyone,
I'm playing Windfall for a while now and i've still a hard time dodging lots of moves (especially from stagger, which seem "spinning", but also other types). Then, I wonder if I'm really a dodge potato or if they are blows that can only be avoided with the basic dodge (the side shift) ? If anyone has an advice...
Many thanks.

  • Most of those can be ducked -- but the timing on stagger is weird, so it takes some getting used to. You can only side-step vertical moves.
  • In my experience, they can be ducked or jumped but not strafed. Except drunken smash, if I'm not mistaken that one can be strafed but not ducked. I assume whirl-wind-double-punch is giving you the most trouble? That move sucks for a variety of reasons but it CAN be jumped. I kind of expected certain Stagger moves to get nerfed but it never happened (shrug). But yeah, I know the side-step is much more reliable against most fast attacks but against stagger you'll need to jump/duck.
  • Thanks guys. Yes, the whirl-wind-double-punch is one of them and drives me crazy... I'll try to anticipate better !
  • Horizontal attacks counter windfall harder than any other class is countered in the game; Guard breaks are at least slow, and the only thing Khalt really has to pay special attention to.

They have a very tight timing, and can only be dodged from a single direction (jump, or duck). Double hitting ones are even worse, as they have to be avoided at exactly the right time, there's a sword doublehit that I believe cannot be avoided by Windfall at all because of the timing.
  • Mastering windfall dodge is by far the most difficult out of the classes...I actually gave up and switched to the dark side (forsaken parry).
