Parry is useless

Well, have you tried Forsaken? Honestly, the parry skill needs some tuning, especially for quik attacks from the front.

In my experience so far, those types of attacks are neigh unparryable with the Forsaken skill.

I mean, maybe it is just bad timing on my part, however, I did nothing but attempt to parry attacks for a few hours, and found the skill very inconsistent.

Again, that is just from my experience using Forsaken.

The other classes are very inconsistent too. Even with RSTICK L/R bound to Steam Controller Bumpers, the skill doesn't always trigger and the timing is weird on absorb.
  • use charged attacks to counter spam-sandwich punchers, it works like magic and you'll win 3-0.
  • Parry is literally so straight forward to get guarantees off its the only ability in the game to confirm into things like side kick and 360 tornado if you buffer it.

If anything, it excels against heavy pressure decks with fast hits. Even if they feint the parry, parry frames last long enough for it to connect regardless of whether you baited it. If he's just jab locking you, then identify where the loop begins and exploit it with predictive parries.

You don't even need to predict to be honest, I've had people mash the stick wildly as a joke and still get parry confirms that costed me games since it leads into such damaging moves.
  • No. Parries don't need a buff. And it's funny how everyone calls repeated attacks spam.

In a fight thats usually what you try and do. Keep hitting. But in this game because in other to do that you have only one button everyone is complaining about spam.

So then all combos in every fighting game are spam too right? Parries destroy combos. Not everyone like slow strength styles. I honestly think it's just you cause literally parry feels like a mini Shockwave to me. As soon as you get parried, fuck you and your combo, now look at my combo :D. I feel grabs need to be implemented into the game to counter overly defensive/parrying people. Cause I have fought too many people that block wait for a parry do their hits and reset. And parrying is the only way they win.

Amen to that. Bring grabs to the game.

I think parry need tweak because it's sluggish to activate thus less fun to use: there's a what feel like 0.2s delay unlike the other defensive moves that feel like are instantaneous. I'd prefer parry to be instantaneous and another handicap added to off-set this buff. That way parry will be more accessible and being difficult to use no longer a reason for not picking this defensive move. People should pick their defensive moves because of their play style and personality.
  • Parry is gonna be even MORE useless after the nerf, lol. The enemy needs to be stunned longer so you can get in more than 1 hit before they start attacking again.

What? No. It is literally the only ability in the game that can set up to things that do over 100 damage, why would it need to guarantee into FURTHER HITS.

There is no other class that can guarantee anything slower than jab, and Kahlt just straight up doesn't guarantee. Why would Parry need a BUFF for guarantees when it is already a cut above the other abilities for its utility, ease of use, covers 50% of options with a single input, AND ALREADY guarantees into one critically damaging move??

If anything, it needs a stronger nerf. Parry windows are so massive even if you feint, if you follow up the hit with one of similar direction, you will still get parried. The active frame for parry is massive, and the recovery windows for parry are so short you can just panic parry twice and get parries. Parry is the only ability where you can mash it in a pinch and you will reap rewards because it covers a plethora of options.
  • ^ No you are thinking of absorb if you are on the ps4, parry is slower but absorb is easily spammable given how fast it activates.
  • As far as difficulties with people using very fast attacks that gold link as a strategy, parrying the following up with a jab or something fast of your own is a good idea to counter it. If someone is truly that dedicated to constantly attacking with fast attacks, then even consistently bopping them with one fast jab or whatever after your parry is enough to whittle them down and eventually "persuade" them to stop throwing those out so recklessly. Beyond that, my experience with dealing with such things got drastically limited when I started implementing strafing and ducking moves into my deck for the sake of PvP. I can guarantee you in my experience and by anyone else who has the reflexes to do it against narrow-minded players your own gut punch that ducks their stuff is enough for them to reconsider

No, I can guarantee you I am thinking of Parry, and that it needs stronger nerfs.

Absorb literally guarantees into nothing. There is no slow down, there is no gain besides stamina, and during the recovery frames you can still get hit in the face. Absorb is probably currently the least powerful ability in the game, which is why devs are trying to buff it (albeit they ironically nerfed it lol)

Forsaken's parry windows are fast, they linger for a while and the recovery frames are tiny enough for them to simply parry once to avoid perfect hits, or parry twice to punish feints and delayed hits. If you spam absorb you'll straight up die but if you spam Parry you can cover several options and can guarantee into massive damaging moves, something no other ability has.

There is a reason the devs are trying to nerf parry, its simply a significant cut above the other abilities.
  • Parry would still be strong even without stamina gain.

Parry, buffer attack, if you chose side correctly you get free damage and follow ups. Dodge back to regain stamina rinse and repeat...
