AFK Exp'ers in 1vs1 Matches
Happened 4 out of my 6 matches earlier today. Guys just AFK bot joining matches and just AFK during match. Which still gives them XP even on a loss. Which allows them to XP to max level, AFK.
If you stay in match long enough, you'll see them do their sequence to re-join a match. Probably hotkey script/macro that repeats clicks for joining a 1vs1, that automatically does that every 5mins or so.
Its lame. How about making them forced to do certain percentage of damage, in order to get XP on a loss. Like 20%.

they would find a way around it, spamming combos hoping for some hits. Maybe after 3-4 losses no more points. rarely do people stick around for repeated beatdowns. afks for the 3v3 will be unbearable please give us a way to kick teammates if the rematch option is the same. Cause of course Ill want a rematch if one of ours leaves or whatever.
Having a randomly placed "Are you ready" to be clicked/pressed for each round or start of fight. Would eliminate this while still rewarding losses. Would force someone to actually hack the game, instead of using a mere hotkey macro/script.
I agree that a kick button, especially in 3v3, could solve the problem, but there is another solution. do not tie down progressing your character with playing 3v3, and you won't see us plaguing your games.
I also would like to point out that the main reason I am doing this is that I wanted to get some of the trophies, and that the only valid path to some of them is actually playing 1v1. For example, it is mandatory, at some point, to raise your combat level to unlock certain "single" player bosses. It is mandatory, to unlock school creation, to raise your combat level. Make it possible to unlock everything without ever going trough combat trials, and you should see the number of AFK er dwindle.
It as been a long time I am level 60, so the issue is not experience for me, but it could be for other player. Let's say I start another character, and I got a clear idea of where I want to go stats wise. I could be tempted to AFK combats trial because you earn exp at an insanely much more faster rate than by playing against NPC.
But the final, and most important reason AFK'ers do exist is that this game balance is extremely bad. In the end, you get constantly defeated by button spammer. And buttons spammers plague about 90% of the games. I played it with a very fast deck and won my 100 fight for the trophy, but beyond that I completely lost interest in PvP because it pretty much boils down to who is the best button spammer.
Do not get me wrong, I AM aware there are strategies to defeat quick attack spammers. But the require you to be real good at this game, so most player will simply ressort to quick decks too, because it makes the game much more easier, making the problem even worse.
So if peoples going AFK to unlock things in the game make you angry, take some time to ask yourself how you play this game, and take time to ask yourself this question : "Does my opponent is actually having fun playing with me, or does he just go frustrated with each beat down" The community as a whole is responsible for creating an environnement where we don't feel like playing PvP anymore, but since we have to endure it to unlock certain single player stage, we resort to being AFK. I myself like very much reading a book while you wallop a dummy. As a side note, while you grind an AFK player, you still get the advantage of getting 3 diamonds toward the progression of your combat level, I get only one. So you are kind of "paid" for your trouble.
Bottom line, I am sorry if that ruin your PvP experience, but actually you are not FORCED to grind me up. You can simply quit and play someone else. And the REAL cure for this problem is to have a serious rebalancing of this game because some abilities are overly powerful, and quick deck are way too efficient to created a balanced game environnement that is fun to compete in. This is why AFK'ers exist.
He clearly earned it, you are just looking at this from a biased, 'doing it the proper way is the only way', holier-than-thou perspective.
He found a way to beat the system and accomplish the same goal with less effort and while maximizing his time. If anything, it's more efficient. Did you know that Bill Gates would hire people who were lazy? Why? Because they would find a simpler way of doing things.
Stop acting like the people who play competitive Pokemon who complain because they took months to make a perfect team and their opponent took an hour through using a program.
Also going to link this discussion and make mention of yourself. Not going to bash on you at all, I just think this is a great example as to why those changes should be implemented. Hopefully I can get it posted by the end of tomorrow, if you want to check it out.
Also @Keha completely agreed. I think that would help a lot.
Just take advantage and farm wins off em (much greater opportunity). Who knows, you may just get a golden sword or two
We don't currently have any plans targeting AFK players specifically but may look into it in the future.
Keep in mind, while someone being AFK will technically get them to max level via minimal XP gain over time, that doesn't mean they can suddenly play better than others. They've learned zero combat skill during that time and will just end up being level 60 while getting beat by competent players of a lower level.
If the devs want to do some afk check, it should be more than just check for minimum amount of damage done or how many losses in a row. Rather something like check the input the game gets from the player. Does it look like they are playing?
Or maybe something like: At the end of the match, give players the opportunity to ignore the other player, which means that they don't show up anymore as an opponent.
For me, this would also be cool with an optional cooldown (ignore this player for the next 5 mins only), because sometimes, I fight someone who is clearly on another skill level. I fight them, quit, Queue for 1v1 again, and bam, them again. And I am sure it isn't the most of fun for them, either.
Thanks for your suggestion on how to solve AFK issue. I have passed along it to the dev team, but can't promise it will be implemented this way. Anyway, your idea is valuable for us, thanks again.
