  • I hadn't even used any attritube points yet cause I was waiting until I created a solid Combat deck to maximize stats perfectly for the deck.
  • Hey Blank, I'm so sorry to hear about this. After investigation, we've found that crashes that corrupt saves on PS4 unfortunately can't be recovered, and we're working on eliminating the crashes that are coming up, as well as the effects of them.

In the meantime, I'd advise to turn on Saved Data in Online Storage on your PlayStation 4. There's a link right here for how to do it: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps4/settings/data_online.html

Additionally, if you could send us an email to support_ps4@sloclap.com and include a brief description of what was happening in-game when the crash occurred, it would be greatly appreciated.

Again I'm so sorry that this happened, I can completely understand your frustration.

  • You truly believe I'm going to start over?

You can't simply check the game files on Ps4 and recover my character?

If not then I demand a refund.
  • You have proof of my Character.

You can easily give me a file of a level 60.
    Named Blank.
My combat trial rank was more like 30 maybe 31. But I only took a screenshot of 27.

If this is not possible I demand a refund. This is unacceptable.

The fact that a game in 2017 that has servers can't save data on a online system like Destiny.

Hey, would you not ignore other customers and answer all similar cases?

Specifically, the first report about the issue so far has not been answered by staff yet: https://www.absolvergame.com/forums/discussion/46/absolver-ps4-gave-crash-and-save-corruption-ce-34878-0-error#latest

I claim a refund or at least some sort of compensation AND resolution.

And yeah, unfortunately, it's not that easy to get a refund for this shit. PS support is stubborn as f@. They tend to say that there is no refund for the service that was "downloaded". I have been debating with them for this issue for more than 3 days.

So, this is a shitty situation man.

At least I am sure that this game is going to be f@ed soon enough. I have already told my friends about their crappy service and attitude. I will also make sure they pay by sharing my and others' cases, so that everyone else know what they get for paying their money for this scam. This way their sales will be severely damaged and everyone will forget about the game soon enough.

Well, unless they cooperate, the only option left will be doing a chargeback and suing them for providing faulty content to the customer.

why does anyone think sloclap can just hack into their ps4 and fix things?

like... game hasn't even been out a week, give them time to sort things out
  • Why do people think that they're able to post on multiple threads on behalf of the Admins.

    Lol.

    I'm simply stating a fact.

If this game were had taken the Destiny route with character saves none of this would be happening.

Not posting on their behalf, but as a software developer that gets a bee in his bonnet when entitled customers that appear to have no clue how things work under the hood start getting ridiculous.

It's not as if they can get their fairy god coder to sprinkle some magic code sauce on the problem and make it go away-- it takes time.

Almost always more than two or three days, more often weeks. Even longer if people take to bitching about it on the forums instead of proactively helping them track down the cause through detailed reporting.

They can't simply check the game files on your PS4, because there is an astronomical chance that they don't have that sort of access to your PS4.

How do you know it's "easy" for them to just give you a playerfile?

    You don't.

There is, however, one thing you're absolutely correct about.

    You're right.

I do have to ask though, have you ever tried getting ahold of servers for a project of this scale?

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you haven't.

There are a lot of good reasons they wouldn't want to player files saved to their servers-- maybe it was the cost? Gotta keep in mind this indie studio's pockets aren't nearly as deep as Bungie or Activision's.

Maybe it would cause more latency? Requiring constant player file updates to a server will absolutely cause more lag.

    Who knows?

Plenty of good reasons, but all I can do is speculate as to which.

That is to say, there are plenty of perfectly valid reasons as to why they can't help you as quickly as you'd like them to-- but I'd imagine they're working on getting a solution out the door as quickly as they can.

I'm glad someone else said it so I didn't have to.

Are there far too many game-breaking bugs during launch week? Yes. Is bitching about it on the forums going to help solve this issue any way? No. There's no need to pollute the forums with posts like this if you actually want to see your issue resolved.

The more cooperation we as players have with the development team in sharing detailed bug reports, the faster we can get these bugs resolved.
  • So is there a fix yet?

    Patience, friend.

In the meantime be sure to back up data you can't stand to lose to prevent stuff like this from happening again.

Like... Not even just save files.

Solid life advice-- make a backup copy of anything and everything you wouldn't want to disappear.

  • He's right to bitch because they've already stated that there is noway that they can restore our characters therefore compensation is needed. "Oh we're sorry" isn't gonna cut it. Countless hours and progression has been lost and they need to do something to at least soften the blow :/

Absolutely, he's right to complain-- the whole situation stinks. Make your grievances known, but don't expect an instant solution or claim that it's easy to figure out, or (the best one so far) threaten legal action as if an honest lawyer wouldn't laugh you out of his office in some weird attempt at bullying the devs into "cooperating". It appears that Sloclap is aware of the issue and are working to fix it. Hunting down what causes bugs and figuring out how to fix them can be an incredibly time-intensive task depending on the nature of said bugs.

Like... The developers are gamers too, it's easy to forget that, but I've no doubt they understand the frustration of losing several hours worth of progression. I'm sure if they could slap together a custom PS4 save file and send it out, they would, but if I had to guess, the proprietary encryption on PS4 save files would prevent them from doing just that.

That said, they have to find and fix the bug before they can get around to figuring out how any sort of compensation will work. It's possible they don't yet have a framework for handling stuff like that.

In the meantime, the absolute best thing us as players can do to help solve the problem is to backup our save files and send detailed bug reports as soon as stuff like this happens.

Making a bunch of noise about it on the forums about it is counter-productive at best.
  • IDK man I have an automatic backup but i'm on PC so idk how that's handled on PS4, I don't even know how a game on PS4 can crash and then just delete your save files. That's so bizarre..
  • I don't even know how a game on PS4 can crash and then just delete your save files. That's so bizarre..

Just as easly as an app crashing on an Android or Iphone, not less common than on PC.

They are. If you want a refound, talk to the store, not the developer. But if not, do what good part of the community is doing. Show some patience, provide all the information you can on all the bugs you find. Be the guy you want to meet on the forums, not a toxic garbage that can't prove to be a solid member of the community.
  • If you haven't lost a save file of this caliber you shouldn't even be speaking so defensively for the developers. A large part of the community isn't showing patience, they are quitting because of this nonsense which is why you aren't hearing from them. The developers get some of the money so why not talk to them about a refund? You clearly haven't lost a save file like this and don't understand what it feels like.

I can only speak for myself, but if I had a nickel for every hour of play time I've lost to bugs and data corruption on various games over the years, I'd be retired.

Hell, I've lost days worth of research and work-related stuff-- things with real-world consequences because Windows decided a blue screen was what I needed in my life.

So don't make the assumption that anyone defending the developer is just oblivious to what loss is.

People who enjoy the game will either back up their saves, or wait for a fix.

People who aren't enjoying the game and don't meet the criteria for a refund will try to sidestep the merchant and bug the developer (who used a vendor to handle stuff like this in the first place).
  • No one cares about the other experiences outside the game. People want there saves back but can't get them and it sucks. We don't need you coming in here being so annoying.

    Agreed, it sucks.

But bellyaching about it on the forums isn't any less annoying.

They've already acknowledged it, they're working on a fix, and have provided a workaround players can make use of in the meantime.

There's really not a whole lot left to be accomplished by continuing to bring it up here.
