Reset BOTH PLAYERS HEALTH & SHARDS at the end of a round
Am I the only person who doesnt like the fact that 1v1's doesnt reset both players to neutral and 100% health after each round? A lot of fights it really comes down to health advantage which the winner of a fight usually doesn't have.

But if you won the round, you won't have the health advantage but you'll have the round advantage.
I think it's fair as it is right now.
Let's say I go up against a player and I get utterly decimated, but I manage to get a few good hits in. At the end of the fight, the player is given health back, not a complete bar, but some. I couldn't stand a chance against this guy when we both had full health, but now, I have a fighting chance. I actually really like this system, as it encourages actual skill as opposed to button mashing or power spamming. I've made many a last second comeback due to how this system works, and before you say that means it's unfair, id like to point something else out.
On the flipside, I've won pvp battles without dying. I've gotten through 3 rounds with diminishing health each time, forcing me to play smater, learn how my opponent thought. If I had just relied on having a large amount of health and being able to tank hits or anything, I would have lost, and I'd deserve it. This doesn't need the same mechanics as most fighting games because this isn't most fighting games.
To summeraize: the current system allows for amazing last minute combacks, puts emphasis on actual skill over relying on being able to do more damage the fastest, and like the others said, is plenty fair. It prevents higher level players from just stomping lower level players into the ground, as this game has a levelling and stat system, something most other fighting games don't have. Honestly, the pvp would becom incredibly unbalanced without this. Basically, if you're good enough to beat your opponent, then you're good enough to do it on one health bar.
And I don't even want to mention how easy it is to reset back to full health if your opponent is not able to cancel your healing.
Btw. if you use your heal at the beginning of the fight and hit the enemy a couple of times, you can heal to 100%.
That is better than giving full hp for free. Using the heal in a right moment is a skill and in order to get 100% in the next round you need to do it properly.
You also say "There's a reason every fighting game doesn't use the BS health-advantage system", and I counter with this: There's a reason every fighting game doesn't let you make custom movesets and alter fighter stats too.
So.... idk how that argument really holds any weight.
If you're not skilled enough to make it work in the current system, that's on you.
there is more strategy to apply
you could battle people in open world near an alter and you could get full health ever fight.
maybe introduce a custom mode. full health each round, no shards, weapons only, etc...
