[GUIDE] Understanding Equipment in Absolver
Hello Community!
My name is Chrinity, I am combat-level 230 and today i am going to show you how equipment works in Absolver.
1) basics
There are 3 values on every item:
- Weight (affects movement)
- Blunt (reduces "hand"-damage taken)
- Cut (reduces "sword" and "gloves*"-damage taken)
*The game has different types of glove-weapons (some do more and some do less cut damage)
So we see that equipment basically reduces damage more weight - less damage
2) The Calculation
The "key" is to figure out the correct main value of an item, by calculating it's stats:
The most simply version of this is
Weight : Blunt
*If you face more sword-damage enemies (for example every second* game), it would change like that:
Weight : (Cut : 2) + Blunt
I do not recommend using a higher number than 2* in this case
3) Example
So for this guide I use the "Prospect-Mask", which has this this stats:
- Weight 1
- Blunt 4
- Cut 1,7
The calculation without facing "Cut" enemies is:
4 / 1 = 4
The calculation for facing "Cut" enemies is.
4 / (1,7 / 2) + 1 = 4,85
So the masks main-value is 4 in normal case and 4,85 if we expect meeting Cut-enemies. That just means, that this item is better in second case.
I recommend using items with a value over 6 and items with a value over 5 just to "fill up". Some items even got over 7! Take care, that there are 2 versions of any item, "clean" and "dirty", they got different stats on same name!
3) some words
I hope, this guide can help you forward in this game. I got quite a few items,
a) My Stats are 26 Blunt and 1 Cut to 27 Movement.
b) I also tried another option which gave me 19 Blunt to 28 Movement.
So we can see that I got in case a) 8,6 Blunt per 1 Movement and in case b) 9,5 Blunt per 1 Movement.
*There might also be a Movement-softcap.
It's up to you guys to find the perfect balance and feel free to share your stats with me ;-)
