A randomize function/ pvp mode

So I had an idea for a randomize pvp mode, where both combatants would be given randomized combat decks made of moves they already know. It'd be a great way to balance this form of pvp, as higher level players with more moves would have less of an idea of what they'd get, and lower level players with less moves would have a better idea of what moves they'd be working with.

In short, it'd mean the higher level player would have to improvise more and have a tougher time because of more possible combinations, and the lower level players wouldn't. I think this could add a lot of balance, and I hope I explained it in a way that makes sense.

Let me know what you think below, and if the devs see this, keep up the great work guys!

  • I think I'd create a new character specifically for this game mode.

Go out of my way to not learn moves I don't find useful in an attempt to keep my deck small and predictable.
  • I guess I never thought of that. I suppose that could be a problem, and I'm not sure what a possible solution would be for that, other than requiring a certain level or something to get in.
  • Not sure how much even a level cap would help.

I was around level 40 when I finally looked up how to learn more moves-- I'd gotten that far without learning anything.

Wouldn't be a stretch to imagine getting to 60 like that.
  • This is why it's just an idea, I was hoping for some constructive feed back with this, as I figured it wasn't the perfect idea, and that I probably couldn't see everything flawed with said idea
  • I like the idea! Lets call it Shuffle mode. To counter people who would avoid learning moves just to abuse the mode, the moves would be shuffled using both players learned moves. That way the meta will favor the person that learns and actually is familiar with a lot of moves. Stats would have to be set to a balanced "base" to make it work tho

Now that's an interesting solution to the problem presented.

Indeed it is, but there's one thing I'm seeing already. Different peoples styles favour different stats, meaning a "base" may actually make it harder for them or leave one player at an extreme disadvantage. Though I can see the usefulness in the shuffle function like that, the main idea was to give lower level players a fair chance in pvp, as I've often seen matchups with vast level gaps. Also, what if the two players had no unique moves, meaning that they would both be pulling from the exact same pool?
