Why is there no map or minimap in the game for orientation?

    The green dot is you when you're resting at the altars, hope that helps.

    A more comprehensible map could be cool, with locations marked and named. even marking where npcs are.(after discovering them of course)

    The world is pretty small, a map like that would take any discovery away. For people who already know the map finding where npcs are gives that nice sense of accomplishment and make it less like a to do list
