A physical school and transmog

edited September 2017 in Suggestions?
An idea I had while discussing to friends who are new to the game how schools work.

A physical school you can go to and actually meet up with other players (like a hub basically). Can party up or have an arena area to practice new decks and possibly trade items.

The school feature is incredibly simple and doesn't have too much to it. Possibly adding an instanced area where you can go to the associated school you are in and join other players of the same school would be a nice social interaction to said school. Maybe having some form of event board where the school owner and mentor ranked players can add info such as: in school tournaments, new members who joined, vocal communication services, and ads for what items players are looking for.

Along side with having this hub, schools could have their own level. As the school levels up features would be unlocked such as an arena fighting pit/caged arena etc., larger member size for school and some other implementations that could be thought of later on. As the school level progresses the actual school would also be upgraded example: You start with a ruined building, very dirty, rubble every where, holes etc. Next level it would be cleaned up, a shack type of building, quickly put together. Then last a full building, carefully put together and coordinated.

This is a pretty ambiguous idea that would take a lot of work and implementation that could take some time to develop. However it would expand the school system tremendously. Other ideas would be school rivalries and tournaments against other schools could further the system.

Transmogrification.

With gear that has stats comes with players wanting to min/max their build but sacrifices fashion. A good number of players would like to have a coordinated attire but don't wish to fall behind in terms of defenses. The outfits now don't have too much to clash against but as more gear is added into the game this will start to see some conflict.

You could have a pretty good idea of what type of build a character is rolling based on gear at times, however this can also be a mute point to many players. Transmogrification may turn some players off because the idea of choosing between looks vs stats can make people think of what they want to build. A player may choose a full set that is incredibly heavy, but offers could defenses just because of the look alone. However regardless of what someone is building in terms of gear, transmogging would not interrupt the flow of the game.

Players who are wanting to min/max their stats are going to min/max, regardless if they like the look of their gear or not. This simple adds an option to people who are coming in competitively to be able to build the look of their character to what they like while still retaining the stats they wish to have.

Any counter points that bring up possible conflicts or more in depth ideas should be brought up to further the suggestions.

Edit: To add to this as well. An option to save your gear sets so when you swap decks you don't have to remember what you were wearing prior. This will allow for an easier time to swap builds and gear.

Thanks for reading prospects!

  • I think the school hub area would be a good idea so that everyone from a school could meet up and practice together. Also as the school progresses cosmetic items could be given for the hub area.
