Question to Windfall experts: dodge again

Hi everyone,

I've had this game for a few weeks an I like it overall, but I'm kinda stuck in "suckiness" at the moment, meaning that I can't seem to win fights anymore with Windfall, just some duels here and there.
I have problems with the Windfall dodge not dodging far enough to avoid certain hits, making the style rather frustrating to me compared to stagger, which I don't like as much aesthetically but it has those very effective defense/attack moves (especially the one going forward).

If you are a Windfall expert can you please give me tips on what to do when cornered by spammers? Spammers are incredibly banal and yet effective. I keep hearing people saying they can easily destroy them. I don't have a problem of strategy, but a mechanic issue: if cornered with 2 fast attacks I can block and wait for their stamina to run out (however still getting considerable damage) but I haven't figured out anything allowing me to effectively get out of the trap and counterattack immediately, because if I do by side dodging at that point my stamina is too low, plus the spammer quickly escapes to replenish stamina and return to spamming.
This is where Windfall dodging should work, but if I noticed correctly, dodging doesn't work with horizontals or wide attacks.

Maybe I really suck, and I hope you can give me pointers on how to play Windfall effectively and share your solutions to these issues.

    Hi everyone,

but if I noticed correctly, dodging doesn't work with horizontals or wide attacks.

well therefore you have the ducking move and jump of windfall.
windfall is just a very diffecult style if not the most diffecult. But there are some thing you can do to improve faster.
1.rethink your deck strategies ( dont leave all the dodging to your windfall ability)
2.dont use the windfall ability on fast sweeps until youre sure wich will be the next
3.you have to dodge slow thrusts and verticals on reaction sooner or later
4.get one or two openings with high range into your deck to follow up fleeing opponents

i hope i helped you a little bit

im definitly no windfall expert but i know enough guys that are windfall main.
  • Thanks man. You did.
On point 3 you mean I should go with standard dodge instead of windfall dodge?
  • no it takes more stam to use the normal and its slower. On top of that it does not slow them nor regain stam. He means your gonna have to learn to dodge just as you see the start up the animation rather then guess ahead of time what they might use.

ty, yep thats what i meant
    np @Acejenderd
  • Yes, I see. That's tough to learn. I manage to do it for the obvious ones, but when it's very quick or the timing of the attacks is not consistent I fail the dodge.
Oh well...will have to try some more.
    Thanks for the comments guys.
