Character Origin changed after Game Engine Crash

I have been having an unfortunate experience with the Unreal 4 engine crashing frequently and regularly to desktop (which as a side note seems to happen more frequently on low graphics settings). The last time this happened, I had been browsing the Guidance Bridge appearance menu when the game once again crashed to the desktop. My character's Origin was from The Tear when I created him, but upon reloading the game my character is now from Karshi and his skin is darker. This should not have been possible, as I did not have any Essence Crystals to spend.

Here is the exact sequence of what happened.

Entered Guidance Bridge Alter menu. Navigated to Essence menu and selected Appearance. Scrolled Origin option from 'The Tear' to 'Karshi'. Press 'B' to leave menu. Game engine crashes. Reload game and character Origin has changed.

I just did the exact same steps and successfully changed my character's Origin back to The Tear, once again without using any Essence Crystals.

  • Hey soldiers_fortune,

I'm sorry to hear you've some technical issues with Unreal 4 engine.

It was essential to know all the details you've sent us about changing your character's Origin. I'll be passing this report along for further review.

In the meantime, I suggest you write an email to support_pc@sloclap.com for getting assistance with your crashes. Do not forget to attach your logs. Steam logs can be found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs\cloud_log.txt
(Note: If you've saved any of the above to a different drive, you'll need to use that drive letter. C: is the most common so it's what we've included here.)

Thank you so much for your patience and continued support.
