Cheating? stamina drain.

I was fighting this guy and he kept winning and after about 5 fights I realized that when I blocked My stamina would drop considerably.( like by a 1/4 or more). he mostly had kicks but only one was shield breaking. has anybody else encountered this.
I was thinking it might be stats distribution but I dont know. My armor is almost 60.

    In patch 1.16 in March they increased all stopping attacks impact on guard bonus +20. Guard breaks do a LOT of stamina damage as well.
