PS4 Controller and Icons in game

So I recently paired my PS4 controller with my PC, it works fine. However, there are different icons appearing for actions in-game. Instead of triangle, square, circle and X the buttons are listed as A,B,X and Y. Any ideas?

Hey darkroadman,

We advise you to check following settings:
Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> Big Picture Configuration
Try removing the check boxes for PS4 Configuration Support.

Thanks, turns out using a wire to connect the controller fixes the problem!
