Gameplay Needs More Build Diversity, And Reward Player Creativity More.
I'm taking a break from this game a while, though it's given me hours of fun and a good experience. i've overplayed it and I feel like i've found where the game loses my interest;
First playthrough, I stacked as much armor as I possibly could, equipped an all punching deck, and called myself Punchy Mcpuncherson. I felt unique enough, and although I knew it was an ultimately terrible idea, it was far more interesting to me than copy/ pasting the best deck I could find and using it. (And wasn't as bad at PVP as the next build was).
This last playthrough, I took the opposite route and went for all Kicks and the armor with the least weight. (Kicky McKickerson). Again, it was clearly not as strong as mainstream decks, but I really don't care. Since again, Copy/ Pasting a deck from someone else is BORING. I don't want to trace over someone elses drawing and call it my own.
Everyone I fought in PVP quickly took me to school. Badly. I paid attention to put the quickest kicks first, but it didn't really help. And honestly, I felt like everyone just slaughtered me with the same combo's over and over. I tried improvising different stances, but in the end, it just was bad. I won't blame anyone else, it was my choice to design an archetype and stick with it over a proven deck.
Since I can't be effective in a way that will give me personal creative gratification, the game just isn't for me. Clearly for others, but not me.
If I were to redesign the system, I would give certain armor and skill combo's unique bonuses. Like, all punches and heavy armor maybe would get a health boost, while all kicks and no armor would give a damage boost (so turtling and punishing player YOLOCOMBO attacks would be more effective). Basically, I would find little archetype ideas, and give a boost to them accordingly, so styles and decks can truly feel unique, and be rewarding for it. One archetype could punish another badly, making online matches less about the same thing over and over. It would definitely catch my attentions. And sure, even if some archetypes were better suited against others, at least players like me can get an advantage once in a while.
Anyway, it's been fun, and I hope to be lured back in with exciting updates in the future.

Thank you for your feedback and your ideas for improving gameplay. Though we can't promise they will be implemented in the game, we are considering player's ideas while working on future updates. Thank you for being with us and sharing your thoughts!
No offense ofcourse cause i could be wrong but id advise attemting to build a less predictable deck keeping distance and speed in mind while sneaking in powerful strikes for gaurd breaks incase an opponent blocks alot.
I hope you have better luck in the future
this should not be, you hear sloclap, this is one of the BIG BIG reason the 25k players you had at launch are gone
(not counting the pve fans)
this includes 3 of my friends who quit for this exact reason.
