No section for Gameplay feedback? - I will just make a thread and post my own, then :)

So, first of all, let me start off by saying that I absolutely loved the game since the first trailers dropped and I even pre-ordered it.

But sadly, I am somewhat bummed out about how it turned out, as I'm having major problems getting the game to run and using the controls.

In short,
Tl;Dr: We need to be able to change the keybindings.

A kinda longer version:
I can't get the controls to work.
I have a "standard" qwertz-keyboard.
So it's not only WASD for walking, but Q&E for stances, which is ok.
But C and Z are halfway across the keyboard.
And while the right hand is on the mouse and only pressing 2 buttons, the left hand addtionally has to block (shift), emote (t) and dash (space).

I am wondering why we aren't able to re-assign keys to certain action?

Furthermore, the 4 stances: Why aren't they bound to the mouse and the class-abilities to the buttons instead?
When I want to activate my Khalt-ability, I don't want to swipe my mouse and *hope* that the game registers it as a true movement and not just ignores it (which it does 20-30% of the time, for me).

Moving on: Dashing and locking to an enemy with the middle mouse-button.
These 2 actions feel really, really and very weird, like there is a delay at work.
I press "space" in order to dodge. Yet I still have to wait what feels like 0.5s before the charater actually dodges, which is simply unacceptable in a fighting game.
Same with the "combat mode" engaged by the middle mouse button. It activates and toggles after what feels like the 0.5s-delay, which makes engaging and cancelling fights somewhat clunky and feel very very buggy and "unprofessional", to say the least.

summing it up and "TL; DR":
Make dodge&engaging fight-mode react faster.
Let us rebind actions to keys and also the stances to mouse-movements.

As much as I want to play the game, I currently am unable to since due to the lag you either fall down a cliff, the camera works against you when fighting against multiple opponents or fighting inside a building and on top of that, I can't reach the controls for the sake of my life.

I hope we will be able to re-assign actions to keys, because otherwise this game might have been a waste of my money and ultimately not be for me . :)

  • This would go well under the suggestions thread, and being able to rebind keys has been brought up a lot already. I'm really not sure why this isn't an option to do, was it an oversight? Did they think of a way that makes it super easy to cheese people if they rebound it a certain way? I dunno, but there has to be some reason behind it right?

    This is my only problem too. I have QWERTZ too, and reaching Z up there is really uncomfortable, C is fine for me.

    Temporary solution is, if you change the keyboard language which has Y - Z swapped. ENG / UK language works.
    You can swap between the languages easily with left alt + right shift, just use it while you game ;)
