Stop nerfing parry already.

The first few tweaks were fine but it's gotten to the point where, you may as well take the parry ability out of the game with the way you've nerf to all out oblivion.

Let me start by saying to all those who think it's balanced it isn't. The actual window to parry is way too low, and no before you say this, I will not use SIDE kick for a free hit. Honestly I shouldn't have to be stuck using one easily predictable move for my next hit. I should be able to use a more damage heavy move to punish you for letting me pull of a parry (especially given that now I have a liter 1 in 4 chance of guessing wrong and getting gold link punished). Or a quick move to open my opponent up for further combos.

I really don't know how many fights you have been in but let me tell you when you parry someone, not only do you kill their momentum but it gives you a few moments to breath, allowing you to mount a concentrated hit, which is usually stronger than normal punch.

But recently all I see is a small windowed parry, that doesn't turn the tide of the fight or even boast and real advantage. Save for giving you a laughable bit of stamina back. Heck the slowing effect is so slow that a normal speed hit can counter the slowed effect.

All I am saying is you nerfing the ability isn't making it more functional just less practical. It's to the point were there is no point in using the ability since you are just going to be wasting a extra block or dodge chance, which as it stands is more effective.

I can definetely agree with that. The possibility of improving the mechanics of parry should be at least considered. I'm all for hardcore, pure skill and difficulty, but I don't think it's worth to parry when you gain almost nothing from it. Stopping your oponent's momentum for a second? Sure, that's cool and all, but you have to play A LOT to reach the point when you can do that with even a grain of confidence AND it's still hardly means anything, especially when you figth oponents that just constantly use gold linking to spam those super fast punches in your guard, daring you to use parry on them.

So yeah, I can totally agree with CharmAlor. I'm a pure Forsaken user myself, so maybe I'm a little biased though.

  • Only issues with parry stem from certain attacks being to strong for how fast they are. I honestly feel like they need to look at the attacks before nerfing the styles. Kahlt Absorb has so little recovery time that you can't actually punish it out of a feint, but due to the insanely fast attacks and lack of stun you have to run either quick or evasive attacks as starters. Meanwhile Forsaken's parry has a fairly long recovery that can get you hit by mid speed attacks if it's feinted, but the stun confirms Leg Breaker and anything faster than it. If they decreased the recovery a little and actually balanced the attacks to where the most you could garuntee was around 90 damage, I'd be fine with it.

However, right now there's a lot more that needs to be adjusted aside from the styles themselves.
