Crash on Boss start

So I finally got my friend to get this game since this is my favorite game of this year. Everything seemed to be going pretty good until he tried fighting one of the main bosses. When he tries to start a boss his game just crashes. I have no clue how or why this occurs.
I hope someone could help us fix this.
