Parry & Strike DOES NOT WORK.

It just doesn't. I've tried against players for 3 whole rounds of doing nothing but Parry & Strike for both directions and NPCs and it will not parry people, it's just a lower damage jab that has a parry icon on it.

Fairly annoying.

  • It works, the timing has to be right on point, though. I use this one fairly frequently, and I've gotten out of a lot of situations with it.

Like half a frame or something? It's a lot of luck rather than skill to get this move to work from the looks of it. Luckily it's quick enough to be more useful as a jab than a reactionary parry move.

But then what is the point of it being a parry move if the parry 'rarely' works.

they might as well up the damage by 10 and remove the parry, or give it more parry frames at the start. Right now Parrying attacks are way to hard to pull off for such little reward. Not to mention there are very few to begin with.
  • You have to practice with it a bit. I use it as my opener for the 3rd section of the deck, and I've parried grab and punch, WWDP, and the mea lua with it -- which are all moves I've banned from my deck. Because I don't use these moves or any stagger moves, I usually can't interrupt with speed and had to find some novel ways of breaking these attacks, and this move is very good at doing that -- with a little luck, and practice :)

I'm convinced Insight is talking about Twist Parry strike.

Parry & Strike is what I'm talking about, the quick one.
    It doesn't work.
I mean, I've seen it slightly work. It zoomed my camera in when someone did it to me, but it didn't parry. The frames are so unrealistic that in a latency setting it will not work, and when it does, it most likely will zoom in the camera.

It's a move that needs adjustments to be functional.

But I guess you don't want the move to be functional? I can't understand your post and believe we're talking about the same thing in the same realistic manner without the implied idea of a certain sort of undertone.

Also I noticed the section this thread is in, I swear I posted this in Bug Report. Oh well, it can be moved there if desired.
  • Nope -- I'm talking about parry & strike. I've slotted twist parry strike before, and I've found that one to be a lot harder to time the parry, even though it has better range and pursuit capabilities, which I've used it for. I think I got a successful parry off of that one maybe 3 times, while parry & strike I can get a parry or two in every fight. Parry & strike is one of my favorite moves in the game because it can stop a lot of moves that I don't have good answers to.
