Update 1.11
So good news. I launched Absolver through my GOG Galaxy as usual after having not played for a few weeks to try out the 1.11 update only to find ALL my saved game data gone. I double checked all the files and it turns out... well IDK it's all gone! I emailed SloClap notifying about the issue but it looks like I have to restart. The salt is real. All those hours...... gone.
I, honestly, almost do not want to play anymore, it's depressing. It's one thing to lose save data when it's a new game and you've put in a few hours while losing a few items. But 200+ hrs? with all the items you need, all the masks from the events, all the moves I had learned which was essentially ALL the moves? Yeah thanks, where's my save file? Where's my money? The salt is real.
Now I'm beginning to hate the GOG Galaxy version of the game because of all its out-of-loop issues. Why did I pre-order it through GOG in the first place? For a discount of course. Was 10% worth all this? nah. Now I'm uncertain whether it is even worth playing the game through GOG which forces me to buy the Steam version since, again, I feel out-of-the-loop using the GOG since I can't use the in-game "friends" list due to having no GOG friends. I only got GOG to get Absolver with the discount, so wtf was I thinking?
My point is, make it friggin easier to make friends IN-GAME. I can't play with people in an online game. It's craycray. It's absurd. It might as well be called Absurder.
Anyways, I'm ranting but really I'm just here to let ya'll know that this issue exists. Don't feel alone if you find you have to restart a whole character in the 1.11 update. I just hope this doesn't become a pattern for future updates. And if this whole sweep was intended? What a stupid idea...
