Tower of Power (tournament mode)
Every great fighting series (be it video game or series) always has some sort of tournament, and I feel a game world like this one could pull it off really well. Introducing the Tower of Power:
* Go to combat trials and use shards to enter a Tower of Power and get queued into 1 of 8 slots (could be more). Basic template could be 8 so it's short and you don't have to worry about it dragging for ever if you don't have time. 16 for better rewards or even ranked tournaments.
* After each round there's a 2 minute break for winner's of the previous round to adjust their character before next match at the alter they're spawned at. They have the option to "ready to join" if they want to skip the wait.
* Every round you go is more rewarding; 1st round: Win=XP Loss=Nothing 2nd round: Win=1.5x XP Loss=XP 3rd round: Win= XP and loot Loss=XP (you get the point for each other round) Final round: Win= XP and nice drop Loss= XP. Rewards differ on amount of players/rounds or if it's ranked.
* It's also cool to see this community setup tournaments, so it would be cool if we could make our own private or public Towers, but player made Towers give no rewards or players that enter could wager shards in the beginning and winner takes all.
I'm sure this is one of those things that sound better in my head than in practice but I'm curious to know what you guys think or any improvements on something like this.
