Introduce a grapple style
A grapple style in Absolver seems difficult to implement but my idea is to add a style that allows the player to rotate the opponents attack wheel. A big thing I see in Absolver is players do not look at their combo wheel during a fight. When moving the mouse (control stick) left or right the player would grab at their enemy and do a motion similar to opening a sliding door, grabbing them by the shoulders and turning them in the opposite direction. this deals no damage, can be parried, dodged by jumping back, and is blockable. However it can be thrown out during attack strings as a mix up, or if timed right, can be used to surprise their opponent to an attack. When moving the mouse (analogue stick) up the user would deliver a push that would again have the same properties as before. this push has considerable knock back which can force the players into neutral should they lack knock back resistance. Lastly when moving down, if timed correctly the player can grab an enemy's attack and Irish whip them vertically on the combo wheel. This moves them based on which side they attacked from. If you were to attack with a hook from the top left stance, you would be whipped into the bottom left stance. Think if we were standing face to face and you took a step right, then ran past me until we were a similar distance back to back. While similar to the other stance abilities the downward motion has one extra feature. When whipped, there is a stun similar to a parry, to allow an opening to attack. This stance is designed to be a more offensive stance, rewarding mindgames and mix ups. I don't really know what stats the style should specialist in, but let me know what you think. I think Absolver would benefit from a style that teaches players to pay attention to what move they're on, but what kind of style that should be is up for debate.
