Separated from friends in Downfall activity

I'm pretty new to this game and I'm loving it so far. I'm not really good at PvP yet but have been loving the PvE content, as such I've really wanted to play the downfall activity with my friend. Unfortunately, every time we start playing together, within seconds of starting to fight enemies we are separated from each other and can only continue alone. Upon restarting the game one of us will have an anti cheat violation appear. We are both using basically brand new PC's so its unlikely that we have anything installed that might trigger anti cheat. Furthermore, we have followed the instructions posted to the easy anti cheat website for resolving faulty anti cheat violations and nothing works. If anyone can help out it would be great, I really want to spend more time playing this game!
