I love Absolver's minimalist approach

One thing I really hate is when a game has a very simple idea, like beating the hell out of (almost) everyone you encounter with cool martial arts moves, and it's bogged down with long cutscenes and unnecessarily bloated story justifications for this, that, and the other thing. While I do wish I could understand more about the game world itself, making me earn story pieces through Combat Trials is an enticing way of getting the player to consume the meat of the game while keeping me anticipating the story tidbits I will eventually get.

  • I love cutscenes and story stuff, but what I love about Absolver's minimalist approach is its clean and minimalistic UI and controls, and its menus. There aren't many games with UI's I really celebrate. Skyrim was one, this is another that will be remembered.
