Problem/(bug maybe?) with inputting controls

I like to use my class special ability a lot, and this bug is the number two reason why I get hit in a fight. (I'd say number one, but I still
do whiff parries a lot lol)

This only happens when blocking. Sometimes when someone attacks me, I press my parry button at the very last second before his attack lands. The parry doesn't go because I parried too late, and the attack hits my guard. I expect the fight to continue as normal but right after the hit-stun wears off on me, I go and immediately parry even though I didn't press the button. My opponent gets a free attack. This issue seriously needs to be addressed, as even though it may not affect other people as much it affects me, its still a bug that grants people free damage, and that's not ok.

Also note, I know for a fact that it is not lag. When I parry while getting hit from an attack, my character will sit though the entire stun duration before letting out the bug parry. Any other parry I through out will not have this delay. I'm only using forsaken as an example here, this happens with every other fighting style.

Does anyone else notice this problem? I bet some people don't even think its a problem, but I'd still like hear that opinion

  • I know what you mean, in my case since I use a steam controller I blame the trackball type feature that allows the "stick" to be moved after your finger is off the pad (there is no right stick for steam controller). I mostly see this on faster medium moves with significant hitstun on block rather than heavy or even light moves.

    Side note: the hitstun for your ability has weird timings depending on the move you block. If you guard gets hit by a guardbreak the next move has a unique timing (this also might be from the steam controller). I think this only applies to the defensive ability and not a manual dodge but i haven't tested
  • Thats not limited to you mate. I know quite alot players that experience this and im pretty sure its caused by a mixture of lagg and a bug. Let me explain.

    If you have a delay while fighting your opponent isnt synchronized 100% to the animation you see. In fact you pretty much see the whole animations some frames later. So when you are parrying in the last moment u see that the hits on your block because your data didnt reach the host in time and you actually arent doing the parry before the hit but after the hit, as seen by the host.

    Imo the desync. Is absolvers greatest problem. Feel free to support the call for a fix on my other post about it.

    • Which platform you're using playing the game (Steam/GoG/PS4)?
    • When did it happen the first time?
    • How often do you experience this issue?
    • In which region are you located/playing from?
    • Have you tried reinstalling controller/the game?

  • I'm on PC, this was a problem ever since I started playing, it happens all the time against players and AI, offline and online, and I'm on NA. I have not used a controller yet, but I doubt that would change how commands are inputted.

    I honestly have no idea when it first happened and it doesn't happen consistently with any combo or move for me at least
