I still cannot get into any server

Hi im in UK on a reasonably good PC...game starts then tries to connect for ages...then I play offline...then I cant turn the game off...running it through steam...am I missing something...do I need to check firewall permissions??? HELP

    For sure make certain there aren't any programs interfering. If you have any friends that are able to connect, try joining their game from the main menu. (Little back door trick I found with some friends)
