Grind too real

I have 6 hours on record. I just played for over an hour against a single guy in PvP. It was hard because he seemed to have almost strictly better moves than me, but I still managed a 25% win rate by the end.
When I am back in practice I win the majority of my PvP matches.

Despite this, I have unlocked like 2 moves.

I refuse to just sit there blocking to learn a move. The general grind of this gameplay has therefore left me disgusted. I cannot even fill out my decks with moves, I literally do not have enough. How is this an acceptable system? If I am supposed to engage in sub-optimal unenjoyable gameplay in order to gain access to half the game, then shouldn't I just not play this game?

  • I think the time you spend learning the moves can be utilized if you just have the will to put in the time. Most of the time you have to engage multiple enemies so you learn essential stuff for 3v3s. Also you learn the moves pretty fast if you use your Combat Style and not only block them. If you want to take an easier route, then join a school and use that build or just ask somebody nicely if they can teach you some moves.

And if you want my honest opinion just on your last question: Don't play the game if you don't want to play the game. And if you want to play the game, then play the game as it's intended. It's like you're demanding a "cheat engine" just because you are too lazy to either put in the intended time and spend it thoughtfully or to think up another solution for your "problem".

  • I can't stand grind in games, but seriously I played this game's PvP mode offline for less than a week and only tried sparingly to learn moves and I still got over half of the unarmed moves. And I have lots of responsibilities so I could commit what... 2-3 hours a night maybe? You're just being unreasonable. Go to the main absolver discord and ask someone to help you learn moves. You'll have most if not all of them in a couple hours.
  • This game isn't a grind, it's a fighting game. You learn moves by fighting, if fighting is a grind for you, you're playing the wrong game.
  • Grinding to learn the moves is really annoying don't let the fanboys tell you otherwise. When you first play a fighting game, even if you're good at fighting games, you're always at a disadvantage since you don't know the mechanics of the game yet. Having even more disadvantage by being locked out of moves is annoying and I wish they would fix it somewhow but unfortunately you're gonna just have to stand around and deal with their dumb NPCs to learn moves for now.
