[BOT AFKer] Grin

edited December 2017 in General Support
This guy is definitely using a bot to do A Presses to re-queue when he loses or gets quitted on.

Video(This is after 4 times of matching him, and 10 minutes waiting):

Not very fun to have to keep beating up a AFK player so they don't get more than 1 Pip in Combat Trials for the Essence Shop.

And I'm sure other people share that.

Grin, I've encountered him before. While AFK and Macro combo players are annoying or even unfair, I for one don't advocate publicly outing a player for their behavior, no matter how despicable. To do so opens up for retaliation from other players that can go beyond just venting frustration on a forum. What's worse is someone might not even care about retaliation and might just want to mess with someone for the "lulz". All one needs is some way to id a player to find out who they are. That player's Steam ID is plenty to learn who that player is, address, phone number, etc.

Doxxing; cyber bullying that include more than just death threats; ddos attacks to that persons IP; the list of things that can happen are things we read about all the time. Sure, one might feel like they are just getting poetic justice but what if that player isn't the only one taking the heat. What if it's some foolish kid who doesn't know any better? Should the rest of his family have to pay for his indiscretion? Potentially getting death threats because someone is going AFK to level faster in a game is an escalation way out of proportions.

The goal is to punish inappropriate behavior and discourage it in the future with options that are more favorable to choose, not swat the fly by burning down the forest.

In cases like these the most appropriate action is to report the behavior privately to support staff, dev team, etc, include the player name and any additional helpful information that aids in identifying what's happening and why it's happening.
I am sure that SloClap will put steps in place to address this type of thing but we need to be patient. They are a small team and adding things to a game without breaking what works takes time.

I feel you are totally JUSTIFIED with your frustration and outrage but if we say we are the better players then we must also act like it. Allow our actions to be tempered by wisdom and guided by kindness, always. Grin might be a jackass but we don't need to lower ourselves to his level. The better players across all games can lead by example. I am fairly new here but I really like this game and I want to see it grow just as much as you do, without toxic players.
If there isn't already a place to report players running exploits, etc then that is definitely a good post for the suggestion thread.

It takes great effort to be cruel. It takes none to be kind.
Let us allow cooler heads prevail and help not harm :)

Weird post JXS, not sure the reasoning behind it.
I'm merely reporting him, showing AFKing is an issue and damaging the game's playability.
Don't project what I'm feeling and the reasons behind it.
It'll save you time on posting over winded posts and wasting your own personal time.
