The devs are amazing.
Wow, this is already pretty great. I have to admit the turnaround on spam is gonna be pretty hard now. What a simple solution! You know, I sort of feel like my fears about you were tainted by the filth of the-medevial-fighter-which-shall-not-be-named.
You even managed to make turtling harder at the same time as countering light spam! Amazing!
And in one patch you hit all of my minor problems and annoyances, telling me that even if they continue, that they are being acknowledged. Just awesome.

I remember when I first played this game, I was telling people that they designed a game exactly for someone like me -- a fighting game where being good at video games could come second to actual combat principles (positioning, timing, parries, etc.) Now it's just another video game -- the realistic 3d combat is gone when you can leap out of combos with an invincible dodge. You can still get good at this game as-is, but the fights are going to be boring to watch, so the spectator mode isn't too important, anymore. The next mask should have giant rabbit ears, so that all the hopping around has more context.
I do want to agree with you that the devs are very responsive, and the base game is amazing, which is why this is such a disappointing change and direction.
