Found myself at the top of the tower

I don't know how it happened. I looked away from the screen and found myself at the altar at the top of the Tower. I didn't enter at the Essence Stores. I found the entrance (didn't know it was the entrance until I watched a Let's Play) at the bottom of the Essence Stores, but it won't let me past.

I haven't beaten all the bosses, but it lets me fight the boss at the top.

Any chance my character could get freed? I don't want 38 hours to be waste.

I also lost my character's hair too and some clothing. Hasn't returned with restart or relog.
