Risryn's dialouge and general lore talk

So has anyone payed attention to Risryn's dialouge while you do your second and third fight with her? I find it rather interesting.

Spoilers ahead, keep in mind that I'm paraphrasing

In the second fight she explains she used to help train prospects, but broke away becuse she didn't like how people were doing things, and states that prospects are sent to kill her, and that's the process to become an absolver. She ends by saying that your character is different, and you and her will do something together, though it's not clear what.

In the third fight, she mentions how the guides know that most prospects will go insane, and send them anyway. They get lost to the essence (in the tower below) and through that, become the perfect guards.

I'm finding this all rather interesting, what do you guys think?

  • Some book also keeps getting mentioned. Absolvers have been charged with protecting it but from who.
the lost prospects dont seem to be the enemy as much a side effect.
  • A side effect yeah, but I guess the point was one that the guides know about but don't do anything about. From what it looks like, if risryn is to be trusted, we might have been used
  • Yeah the story's pretty interesting. They make Risryn look like a merciless killer the first time you see her but the more you fight her it becomes apparent that the people who send you after her are the dodgy ones. Even the other bosses don't seem all bad when you refight them. There's definitely more to be told.

What you said just now actually gave me a thought. Kuretz (probably butchered his name) says stuff about leading lost prospects out of the essence mines, implying he may be trying to help them from the fate that the guide so willingly sent them to. He also mentions being a lost prospect, but finding his way back from it. The twins, im kinda iffy on, but it might just be because they were a pain to me.
  • Also, as I have now fought all bosses 3 times, I find it interesting how the twins say that they don't need a mask to revive, implying they revive in a similar fashion to your character. You use a mask, and they use..something else.
  • What I think is that the guides can control the absolvers, and Risryn broke away from the control to fight the guides as did Kuretz but later became a lost prospect then regained his sanity. Since they broke away the guides are trying to defeat them so they can either kill them or make it so they are now back under control.

My guess is that absolvers are protecting a book of essence incantations from other nations in the world, such as the folding ritual, and how to summon weapons, come back from defeat, etc.. as it has all the powers of the absolvers, and they guard it from the non-destroyed nations in Absolver such as Uring or the Tear, and the guides see the lost prospects as collateral damage
  • After watching the trailers again not only are there deep mines shown but also some giant glowing gold orb. I dont remember this orb being mentioned in my playthough. i think eventually we will go down into the mines I wonder if kuretz will be a quest-giver.
    Anybody know of this Orb.

it kind of reminds me of a loot drop orb, so, hopefully, a large loot drop, please be a large loot drop, I need more loot.......
  • Isn't that orb related to the scene depicted on the painting in the tower?
